Sellers description:
1969 Jaguar XKE 2+2
Offered for sale is a Jaguar E type 2+2 that has spent most, if not all, its life in dry, sunny Arizona. This "E" type is sound, solid and runs and drives extremely well. The 4.2 liter, six cylinder engine runs well, carries good compression across its 6 cylinders and shows very good oil pressure. No excessive smoke on acceleration. The exhaust is a multiple outlet "sport" system in good condition with a nice rich note.. The automatic transmission shifts well and the operation is smooth and quiet. This Jaguar is fitted with the chrome plated military style wheels with the small Jaguar logo'd wheel covers and radial tires. .

The body is solid with no rust or evidence of body damage. Panel fit and closing gaps are very acceptable. The paint finsih is a 6+ on a 1-10 scale.

The interior is all original. The seats show typical 40 year patina. The carpet is worn and should be replaced. The dash top, side panels and rear luggage panels are very good condition. All the instruments function as they should. All the glass in the car is good and the window lift mechanisms work well. The spare tire, wheel and jack are included.

There are some cosmetic issues that need to be addressed, namely:

# the ignition switch nacelle needs to be replaced.
# Both right and left dash blanking panels need to be replaced.
# The car is equipped with A/C, but the evaporator case needs replacing.
# The 4 differential cage mounts should be replaced.
# The rear wiindow trim on the rear door is missing and needs to be repalced.
# Wiper arms and blades are not with the car.
The correct VIN for this 1969 E type is 1R42365B. . .The number listed in the text is incorrect. I have also located the original A/C evaporator case, coil and X- valve, it is in restorable condition.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
