Ebay item 7/1/07
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jaguar-E-Type-2-2-XKE-XKE-Jaguar-Coupe-DRIVEN-EVERYDAY-G ...
Current bid $3,550 reserve not met, 11 bids, 5 days left in auction.

Sellers description:
1969 Jaguar XKE 2+2 Coupe. This vehicle has been garage maintained and the cars condition shows it. No real rust on this beauty, even in the spare wheelbase and underside areas where you'd expect it. Headliner is perfect!!!

The leather is absolutely glove soft. There is hardly any wear on the seats, armrest, step down. Its nice and clean on the interior. Rugs in fine shape

The engine had been replaced with a Ford 302 and a new 8 cylinder transmission. Starts strong with NO electric draw AT ALL. Its been driven EVERYDAY this month. RARE.. A Classic Jaguar that can spend more time on the road than in the shop. Feel like youre back in the 60's 70's again.

This vehicle has new front shocks, original wheels and E-Type hubcaps, and new muffler. Recently tuned. The original odometer and tachometer has been replaced but will come with the car to reinstall if you like. The original odometer shows 7743 miles. No real history known other than last 2 owners. Title is free and clear and is Mileage exempt.

The body, glass chrome and interior are in nice condition. Nice gaps. The exterior paint (Auburgine...) appears original and looks good with some minor touch ups (Touch up paint will be included) . The exterior head lights and signals work. There is a nice alpine AM/FM radio/cassette player. Soft comfortable seats. Carpet in back and front is clean and in tact. Spare tire included. Very well maintained vehicle at GOOD RESERVE.

If you are a Jaguar purist, it should be fairly easy to restore to its original condition since the body and interior are very nice not much would be needed......And, you can get some funds for restoration by selling the current transmission and engine and replacing with a Jaguar engine/transmission.

The clock, and water pressure gauge do not work. There are no interior light bulbs so I cant guarantee the few interior lights work. The drivers side door sags a bit when open, but closes tight. There is only 1 key, the ignition key. Some leather areas need regluing. Minor chips by the modified cowl. Some minor road dings on very lower body (see pictures)

I put a VERY OBTAINABLE reserve, especially compared to other coupes currently on EBAY. Not trying to make a mint. Not giving it away. Just making a fair attempt for sale for a fair price. Car is in Gainesville Florida off I75. I am NOT a Jaguar/Car expert or a dealer, I have tried to mention all that is wrong with the car since it is..almost 40 years old. Youll be real happy with this car. I strongly recommend a vehicle inspection for out of town buyers.

I love driving this car around the neighborhood and around town. I took it to the grocery store, hardware store. I got lots of stares. Its really nice. The engine is strong with lots of torque. Brakes work fine. You almost have to slow it down to get that nice throaty growl, then she just runs and runs and runs.....Youll love it...

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
