Seller's description:
This wonderful 1969 Jaguar E-type 2+2 Coupe is a very earlier Series 2 car. It was built on August 30 of 1968 and the date of dispatch was October 1968. The Jaguar E-type presented here has been modified with an upgraded with a Series 1 4.2 engine with Triple SU carburetors. There has been a great deal of work completed on this car since 2014, but most of this work we had completed in the last 6 months. The car had several driving upgrades prior to our ownership which include a new Koolkat fans, retro air conditioning installed and new Bluelooth radio. Also, upgraded front brakes, rear brakes (pads and rotors) replaced, new rear shocks, rear cage mounts and new rear stabilizer bar bushings and more. We purchased this car in the spring of 2020 and completed the refurbishment with the following:
• Complete body paint job in black was completed in December of 2020. • Rebuilt triple SU carburetors. • New fuel pump installed. • New stainless steel exhaust system installed. • New gear reduction starter. • New battery. • New chrome wire wheels installed with new knock offs • Fuel pump drained, removed and restored. • New fuel sender. • New stainless steel exhaust installed. • Valve covers, intake and carburetors polished. • New foot well carpets. • Pertronix ignition installed with new distributor cap, rotor, spark plugs, wires and ignition coil. • Underdash kit installed. • AC system charged to blow cold. • Oil service and lube service. • Throttle linkages repaired. • Interior light repaired. • Valve adjustment. • Lower engine work included new rod and main bearings and thrust washers. • Compression test on 2/23/21 and the compression was excellent of 150 to 155 psi on all 6 cylinders. • Over $19,000.00 has been invested in improvements both cosmetically and mechanically since the spring of 2020.
This is a nice driver level car to be enjoyed with several driver upgrades to make the e-type experience that much more enjoyable. Also with the benefit of the 2+2 which allow for greater leg and cabin rem an well as easier entry and exit. Furthermore, it is finished in black which is one of the best colors on a Jaguar E-type. She is ready to go to be enjoyed.
