Handbooks still on Ebay with new documentation

www.ebay.com.au/itm/Jaguar-E-Type-4-2-S2-Owners-Handbook-PLUS-Original-ser-doc-Z ...

The original manual that came with the 1979 Jaguar FHC owned by Tony Zemaitis, the famous guitar maker. He made guitars for the Rolling Stones, The Beatles, Bruce Springstein and the list goes on and on!

The front cover actually has his stamp on it (which has been masked by a colour pen and the inside cover has his writing showing the car engine details.

I have his original headed paper where he has listed the work carried out during his ownership of the Jaguar E-Type which I had purchased after his ownership. The original letter headed documentation will be included in the sale.

Wow....I've been in this car numerous times when Tony Z owned it when I was a boy...8 years onwards.
My father used to work for Purdeys Gunmakers and had Tonys guitar engraving done there. I think Danny O'Brian used to do it on the side.

Tony had oodles of cars but the E Type always seemed to stay...I gota say he used that car it should be, a very quick driver indeed. Seem to remember it having a little shunt in the mid 70's being hit by a 1275GT Mini of all things.

Great to see its still about and in the original scarlet paint.

He had it serviced at Langdown Garage, Snodhurst Avenue, Walderslade, Chatham, Kent....garage called Snodhurst Car Sales.

That's very interesting and fills some more gaps in the history of this car. When I started the restoration on this car we stripped the body work back to bare metal and found a small piece of damage which we repaired with a new panel. interestingly there is a Zemaitis Museum in Tokyo which holds his word famous guitars and some of his cherished sports cars which he held in high esteem. The car will be on the road this summer work permitting.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
