This home market 2+2 Series II has been in its current ownership for 26 years. Previously, the Jaguar was in Bristol in the 1970s, and then moved to Essex where it was in the 1980s and 1990s. It was well maintained during that period, with many invoices present today, it was in the late 1980s that a body restoration was carried out. In 1997 the present custodian purchased the E Type from a dealer in Woodford Green, it was then shipped to Versailles, where it was used as daily transport around Paris for two years, with we note, total reliability. The Jaguar was well cared for, as evidenced in the history file, and the mileage covered in this current ownership is about 9000 miles.

Since its return to the UK it has been mechanically maintained, and loved, but had little general use. The interior now needs replacement. The wire wheels, replaced in 1998, need replating, with the exterior, sound and solid, and generally rust free. The paintwork is presentable. Mechanically the car is in good working order, it starts and runs, but a recommissioning service may be beneficial. The large history file includes an original handbook for the 4.2 Series II, general correspondence regarding the car, a handwritten log of mileages from 1983 to 2003, Jaguar Enthusiasts Club correspondence, bill of sale to current owner, invoices from the 1980s and 1990s and the V5C registration certificate.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
