This 1970 Jaguar XKE Series II coupe is finished in yellow over black leather and powered by a 4.2-liter inline-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission. Features include dual Stromberg carburetors, 15″ wire-spoke wheels, front disc brakes, chrome trim, bumper overriders, pop-out rear windows, a louvered clamshell hood, a wood-rimmed steering wheel, air conditioning, Smiths instrumentation, and a push-button AM/FM radio. The car was acquired by the selling dealer in March 2022, and work completed since 2021 has consisted of rebuilding the carburetors and front brakes, refreshing the suspension, and replacing the exhaust. This XKE coupe is offered in Maryland with service records, an owner’s handbook, and a clean Ohio title.

The body is finished in pale yellow and features chrome trim on the bumpers, window surrounds, and light surrounds. Equipment includes bumper overriders, a louvered clamshell hood, polished exhaust outlets, pop-out rear windows, and a driver-side mirror. The rubber trim on the rear of the car is deteriorating.

The 15″ wire-spoke wheels wear red-line Micheline tires. Braking is handled by front discs with rear drums. Work completed in 2021 includes rebuilding the front brake calipers and replacing the brake rotors, pads, and lines along with the wheel bearings, front shocks, lower control arm ball joints, outer tie rods, and sway bar end link bushings.

The bucket seating is trimmed in black perforated leather and is accompanied by matching door panels, carpets, and dashboard trim. Equipment includes air conditioning, a wood shift knob, center console, locking glovebox, rearview mirror, and a push-button British Leyland AM/FM radio. Wear is present on the seating surfaces and the driver’s seat foam has deteriorated.

The wood-rimmed steering wheel fronts Smiths instrumentation including a 160-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 5k-rpm redline, an analog clock, and auxiliary gauges showing voltage, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 33k miles, approximately 200 of which have been added by the seller.

The 4.2-liter inline-six features electronic ignition and dual Zenith-Stromberg carburetors, which were rebuilt in 2021. Additional work completed at that time consisted of repairing the oil sump plug threads, adjusting the throttle linkage, and changing the oil. A multi-tone air horn kit is installed.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission. A replacement exhaust system was installed in 2021.
