The performance upgraded 4.2-liter inline engine, 4-speed manual transmission and stunning color combination of makes this perfect for concours events, regional shows or tours. This Jaguar presents beautifully throughout after being fully restored through the 1990s by its longtime owner, James Hiser of Portland, Oregon. Included in its four-inch-thick file history are all the restoration receipts for parts, services and such. The restoration was continually upgraded through about 2011. This Jaguar repeatedly earned 99.9 points at numerous JCNA Meets through 2011 (judging sheets are on file). Impressively, this Jaguar was featured at the 2017 The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering. The Quail is one of the most prestigious automotive events in America. The restoration includes numerous engine and component upgrades throughout. Underneath, her engine, suspension, and drivetrain benefit from a similar level of preparation and many components have been carefully painted, coated or polished as part of the restoration. The Claret (Burgundy Paint Code 36) livery is gorgeous and has a uniquely elegant presence. The paint has excellent shine and luster and is in beautiful concours condition today. The Claret paint is its original and correct factory color. The chrome and stainless-steel trim have also been restored to concours condition. The chrome plated knock-off wire wheels are wrapped in era-correct looking Dunlap D40M2 tires and are also in excellent condition. The interior has been refinished in the correct Biscuit Leather and beige wool carpeting. The interior overall is in concours condition today. The black dashboard is in excellent condition and the upgraded Momo wood rimmed steering wheel looks and feels great. Its upgrades include the 10:1 high compression Venolia pistons, Isky-reground cams, reworked connecting rods with upgraded hardware, Mallory electronic ignition, brass freeze plugs and much more. A nicely fabricated custom dual-fan aluminum radiator shroud is also worth noting, as are ceramic-coated headers and a full stainless steel exhaust system. The power is transmitted through its 4-speed manual transmission with independent rear suspension. The engine compartment is beautifully detailed and shows very well. The chassis, brakes and suspension components have nearly all been upgraded for higher performance. This Jaguars undercarriage is also very well detailed and is in overall show condition. Shes accompanied with over a decades worth of restoration receipts and documentation. We have this E-Type priced right as the Hagerty No. 1 Value is in excess of $145,000.
