    Private Party Or Dealer: Dealer

This 1969 Jaguar XKE is a Series II coupe that was built on July 9, 1969, and is said to have been first sold by the Snuffy Smith Motor Company of Dallas, Texas. It was reportedly purchased by the second owner in 1977 and registered in Kansas before it was placed in storage in Garland, Texas in 1983. The car was removed from storage at the time of its acquisition by the selling dealer in July 2021. The car is finished in Regency Red over black leather upholstery, and power comes from a numbers-matching 4.2L inline-six paired with a four-speed manual gearbox. An August 2021 service included a rebuild of the dual Stromberg carburetors and the installation of a new battery and spark plugs. The car has not been driven since 1983, and additional sorting will be required prior to use. This XKE project is now offered in Haltom City, Texas, with a Jaguar Production Record Trace Certificate, factory literature, and a clean Kansas title.

The body wears Regency Red paint and features a driver-side mirror, US-market side markers, chrome bumpers, and dual chrome exhaust resonators. The rear window has been removed but is included in the sale. The car has not been washed since it was acquired by the selling dealer.

The 15” wire wheels feature Jaguar-stamped knock-off hubs and are mounted with older General Dual Steel II Radial tires. A matching spare wheel with a Dunlop tire is fitted beneath the rear cargo area. Braking is handled by four-wheel discs with inboard rear units.

The cabin is trimmed in black leather with matching door panels and carpets. The car is fitted with an air-conditioning system as well as a Philips AM/FM radio. Rust is noted in the floor pans.

The wood-rimmed steering wheel frames Smiths instrumentation including a 160-mph speedometer and a 6k-rpm tachometer, while auxiliary gauges are located in the center of the dashboard. The five-digit odometer shows just over 14k miles.

The 4.2-liter DOHC inline-six features twin Stromberg carburetors and was factory rated at 246 horsepower. An August 2021 service included the installation of a new battery and spark plugs as well as a rebuild of the carburetors. The selling dealer was able to get the engine running using an external fuel source, though additional sorting will be required prior to regular use.

The car retains a four-speed manual gearbox.

A collection of tags and stampings on the engine and bodywork can be seen in the gallery. Engine block stamping 7R6239–9 matches the engine number listed on the chassis plate and Jaguar Production Record Trace Certificate below.

The Jaguar Production Record Trace Certificate lists the factory colors, drivetrain numbers, and a July 9, 1969 build date. A business card from the Snuffy Smith Motor Company is included.
