Current bid $15,000 reserve not met, 1 bid, 6 days left in auction.

    Sellers description:
Beautifully restored 1969 Jaguar E-Type. I have retired, lost my garage space, and can no longer give her the care and attention she deserves.

This car is an "all numbers matching" Series 2 FHCoupe, not a 2+2.

There are fewer than 1000 miles on this 2 year old restoration. The car is as solid as it looks in the photos. She is truly a joy to drive and behold!

The car was completely disassembled and rebuilt or replaced from the ground up!The tub was stripped to bare metal in preparation for new floor pans, trunk floor, sills and rockers. There is NO rust in this car! The front and rear suspension subframes were rebuilt with new mounts, bushings, wheel and half shaft bearings, universal joints, tie-rod ends, shocks, brake rotors, brake lines, and hoses. The brake calipers, and master cylinder were re-sleeved in brass, and rebuilt with all new internals as was the vaccum cylinder.

The engine has been rebuilt with new pistons, rings, bearings, valves, and cam bushings. The limited slip differential was rebuilt with new bearings and seals. The transmission received new input and output shaft bearings and seals.

All new wiring runs to electrical components that have been either overhauled or replaced. A new clutch, exhaust system, re-cored radiator and rebuilt carburetors round out the mechanicals.

The car is painted a striking, period correct, Opalescent Silver Blue, over excellent body work with uniform panel gaps. The newly chromed bumpers, new wire wheels, and new spinner-type knockoffs, add just the right amount of sparkle.

All exterior rubber components, bumper to body seals, window gaskets, and door / rear hatch seals etc. have been replaced. The tires are new Yokohama 205/70R15s.

The windshield, side door glass, and halogen headlamps are all new.

The interior is fitted with custom blue / grey leather seats. The matching blue / grey vinyl door panels, cargo floor, wheel arch covers and custom dash board cover are complimented by a light grey headliner. Add to this the reconditioned gauge /switch cluster, the polished wood steering wheel, the AM/FM cassette, and the custom A/C system and you have one elegant driving environment.

The car runs strong, brakes and tracks straight, steers and handles very well. The ride is tight and smooth, and there are no significant oil or fluid leaks.

She is beautiful but not perfect. I will do my best to describe all defects as I know them. The car is being sold as is, with no warranty expressed or implied.

The speedometer is erratic. The cable is new, and the head seems ok. I have been told that the 90 degree gear drive is probably bad.

The clock has no battery. It may or may not work with a new battery.

The rear hatch glass and chrome trim are original and have a few scratches that are visible if one looks closely.

There is a small dent and paint chip in the rear deck lid. See the close up photo of the rear deck lid. One must look closely at the photo and the vehicle to see this defect.

The A/C system is a little weak. System high side pressure is low. A new compressor is available and will be included with the car.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
