    Ebay item 2/14/10
    cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jaguar-E-Type-Coupe-1969-Jaguar-E-Type-XKE-2-seat-Coupe- ...
Current bid $5,000 reserve not met, 1 bid 9 days left in auction.

    Sellers description:
1969 series II, two place, 4-speed manual gearbox Coupe. It is NOT a 2+2 model. It is a completely rust free example. Both drivers and passengers side complete floor pans, as well as the complete trunk floor were recently, professionally replaced with Martin Robey panels.

The car has only 54,134 smiles from new. The dual overhead cam, 4.2 ltr. straight six cylinder motor absolutely sings through it's dual exhaust and four Ansa resonating tips. The 4 speed all synchro gearbox shifts sure and true with short throws. E Type four wheel disc brakes have always been up to the task at hand and these are no exception. The body is straight and the doors close easily and as they should. The leather seats are original and show their age with a beautiful patina. This XKE was originally Sable Brown, but has received a "driver quality"respray in signal red. The car includes the rear parcel hardware, as well as all of it's original AC components. The carpet is new and looks fabulous. Door panels and headliner are in great order. The dash top looks new as well. All of it's gauges come to life and let you know that everything is fine. It runs and drives like the wind. All electrics work fine as well. Handling is crisp yet comfortable. Turn in is quick and predictable. Once committed to a line in a corner, you are in control not only with the wheel, but also with your right foot. We did not push this car hard on our test, as the tires are old Michelin's, and are showing their age. A wonderful car to use every day, or, a repaint and some detailing will allow you to show the car with confidence.

    Sellers description:
IT HAS UNDER 50 MILES ON THE FULLY REBUILT ORIGINAL ENGINE.

THIS IS A 1969 2 PERSON COUPE THAT IS IN SIMPLY OUTSTANDING MECHANICAL AND BODY PANEL CONDITION. IT NEEDS ONLY A PAINT RESPRAY AND PERHAPS A FEW VERY SMALL DINGS MASSAGED OUT. VERY SMALL DINGS. ZERO RUST. BEATIFUL UNDERCARRIAGE BUT WITH THE USUAL ROAD GRIME AS I DRIVE HER TO WORK AND AS OFTEN AS I COULD. EVERYTHING UNDERNEATH IS AS IT SHOULD BE.

I'VE HAD THE CAR FOR ABOUT 3 YEARS AND HAVE HAD VIRTUALLY EVERYTHING MECHANICAL RESTORED,REPLACED OR UPGRADED. THE FRONT DIFFERENTIAL SEAL WEEPS A BIT.

I MAINTAIN A FULL WRITTEN SERVICE HISTORY AND ALL RECEIPTS SINCE THE DAY I TOOK OWNERSHIP OF HER. I HAVE RECEIPTS NEARING $50K INCLUDING THE ORIGINAL COST OF THE CAR.

SHE IS FRESH OUT OF THE LONDON AUTO WORKS (MR MICHAEL COLLINS,PROPRIETOR & FORMER PRESIDENT OF FLORIDA JAG CLUB) IN JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA WHERE SHE UNDERWENT A COMPLETE ENGINE OVERHAUL.:

    CRANKSHAFT POLISHED AND BALANCED
    ALL NEW BEARINGS
NEW OIL PUMP -HIGH VOLUME TO BOOT!
RODS SHOT PEENED, MATCHED FOR WEIGHT AND BALANCED TO THE CRANKSHAFT
NEW HIGH PERFORMANCE PISTONS AND RINGS. ALL WERE WORKED TO WEIGH EXACTLY THE SAME
    CAMSHAFTS REFRESHED AS NEEDED
THE CYLINDER HEAD WAS TOTALLY REBUILT BY COVENTRY WEST WITH NEW SEATS,VALVES,GUIDES,SPRINGS,ETC. GENUINE GOLD HEAD
THREE(3) NEW WEBER 45DCOE CARBURETERS INSTALLED WITH F1 GRADE "ITG" AIR FILTERS INSTALLED, THE VELOCITY STACKS ARE STILL INSIDE UNDER THE FILTERS!
    STAINLESS STEEL EXHAUST HEADERS
    HIGH POWER GEAR REDUCTION STARTER
DELCO REMY ALTERNATOR INSTALLED, BUT NOTHING DONE THAT CANNOT BE REDONE FOR THE PURIST (YOU MUST LIKE TO PUSH!) IT CHARGES IN THE "HIGH NORMAL" RANGE.
NEW 123 IGNITION PROGRAMMABLE DISTRIBUTOR. IT CAN BE SET TO 16 DIFFERENT ADVANCE/PERFORMANCE CURVES AS DESIRED. IT IS MADE IN THE NETHERLANDS AND WAS QUITE EXPENSIVE. MSD PERFORMANCE IGNITION COIL
    FIDANZA ALUMINUM RACING FLYWHEEL
    COMPLETELY NEW CLUTCH
    GEARBOX GONE THRU

EVERY "WEAR" ITEM IN THE FRONT SUSPENSION HAS BEEN REPLACED. POLY BUSHES ON THE ANTI ROLL BARS, NEW BALL JOINTS, TIE ROD ENDS, STEERING RACK MOUNTS, STEERING COLUMN U-JOINTS. IN THE CABIN: STEERING COLUMN NEEDLE BEARINGS REPLACED. NO WOBBLE WHASOEVER. THE CAR IS AS TIGHT AS CAN BE.

WILWOOD RACING VENTILATED DISCS,4 POT CALIPERS AND PADS, STAINLESS LINES. THIS CAR STOPS WITH AMAZING AUTHORITY. NEW FRONT BOGE SHOCKS. KONIS IN THE REAR.

1 YEAR OLD OPTIMA RED-TOP BATTERY

NEW WIRE WHEELS IMPORTED FROM SC PARTS IN THE UK. REAR TIRES EXCELLENT, FRONTS OK (JUST ROTATED). 4 BRAND NEW 2 "EARED" KNOCK-ON HUBS. JUST GORGEOUS AND THEY ALL SHINE UP LIKE THE SUN.

2 NEW COOLING FANS FOR THE RADIATOR. IT NEVER EVER OVERHEATS.

NEW HEAT SHIELD FOR THE BRAKE AND CLUTCH RESERVOIRS

NEW BLOWER FAN FOR THE HEATER

IT ORIGINALLY CAME WITH A/C WHICH HAD BEEN REMOVED PRIOR TO MY OWNERSHIP. I STILL HAVE IT ALL COMPLETE AND IN A CRATE.

NEW AFTERMARKET ELECTRIC FUEL PUMP INSTALLED WITH PRESSURE REGULATOR. THE ORIGINAL SU PUMP NEEDS ONLY THE CORK DIAPHRAGM REPLACED INSIDE, AS I SEE IT. NOTHING DAMAGED OR DISTURBED IN ANY WAY TO RETURN IT TO AN SU PUMP.

EVERYTHING WORKS, EVEN THE ORIGINAL RADIO WORKS! NEW SPEAKERS TOO. THOUGH I THINK THE SMITH'S ELECTRIC OIL PRESSURE GAUGE IS FAULTY AS WHEN THE ENGINE IS CHECKED COLD WITH A MECHANICAL GAUGE IT READS 80 PSI THOUGH THE SMITH'S GAUGE READS 40. I TRUST MECHANICAL...

THE CLOCK IS NEW AND IS WIRED INTO THE CAR'S ELECTRICAL SYSTEM AND IT KEEPS DARNED GOOD TIME.

NEW RUBBER DOOR AND DOOR FRAME GASKETS. NEW REAR HATCH TO BODY SEAL. NEW RUBBER BONNET TO BODY SEAL. NEW BONNET TO ENGINE COMPARTMENT SEALS. ALL RIVETED IN PLACE PER ORIGINAL

VERY EXPENSIVE "JAG EYES" LEXAN COVERS GIVE THE HEADLIGHTS A TOTALLY DISTINCT LOOK, AND FOR ME, WERE WORTH EVERY DOLLAR. EXTREMELY NICE.

    ANZA EXHAUST

ALL NEW HOSES,CLAMPS,BELTS, ALSO, A NEW VACUUM VALVE AT THE VACUUM STORAGE TANK ALONG WITH A NEW VACUUM VALVE AT THE BRAKE'S POWER BOOSTER.

THIS CAR NEEDS A GOOD NEW PAINT JOB AND AN OWNER. AS I SEE IT, NOTHING ELSE.

WE LIVE IN THE JACKSONVILLE METRO AREA AND THE ENGINE HAS A 12 MONTH/12K MILE WARRANTY.

THIS IS NOT A SUPER SHINY JEWEL WITH A FRESH MIDDLE OF THE ROAD,EYE CATCHING PAINT JOB,THAT'S GOING TO TURN AROUND AND BITE YOU IN THE ASS. THIS IS A CAR THAT YOU CAN TRUST AND BED THE ENGINE IN LIKE AN ADULT. AS THE ENGINE IS SO EARLY INTO IT'S BEDDING IN PROCESS, THE WEBER CARBS WILL PROBABLY NEED SOME FETTLING BY THE TIME IT GETS TO 1000 MILES. I HAVE SEVERAL EXTRA SETS OF HIGH SPEED JETS JUST FOR THIS PURPOSE.

IT ALSO LIVES INDOORS OF COURSE. I'M A 53 YEAR OLD PROFESSIONAL AND HAVE NEVER EVER ABUSED IT. THE PRIOR OWNER WAS A COMMERCIAL PILOT. THAT'S ABOUT ALL I KNOW OF IT'S HISTORY.

THE INTERIOR IS SIMPLY AMAZING. SO IS THE REAR HATCH AREA. I DRIVE IT THE 12 MILES TO MY OFFICE AS OFTEN AS I REASONABLY CAN. IT'S A JOY TO DRIVE. IT REALLY IS.

THE CARPETS ARE PERFECT UNDER THOSE GENUINE LLOYD MATS.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
