Ebay item 7/05
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll
Car sold at $26,851.00 (Reserve met) after 31 bids. 80k miles. Note this car is a open car/ots however the VIN given should be a coupe.

Sellers description:
This is a project I started three years ago and have'nt had time to finish it in the past year.I am in the car restoration and body business and this is my personal car.Unfortunatly ,I am currently way too busy to restart and finish it. I cant let this car set any longer. We specialize in Porsche and Mercedes and are swamped. If someone out there wants a huge head start on a very desireable collector car project, here it is.

We were restoring this car to be completely new ,it has had a complete engine overhaul, trans. overhaul, rear overhaul, brakes, new clutch, wheel bearings, seals, brake lines, calipers, rotors, disks, universal joints, shocks, steering rack,SS exhaust system, carbs overhauled, every nut and bolt cad plated, new master cylinders&booster, radiator and fans restored perfectly, new heater core W/fan assembly restored perfectly, restored fuel tank (was almost new to start with). Restored wiper assy., Completly new interior kit,tan/biscuit, conally leather (seats are restored to perfection, beautiful frames), wool carpet, new canvas top. I have several boxes of new stuff like shields, hoses, complete body seal kit, brackets, chrome parts, show chromed bumpers (all chrome was replated show quality, over $3000.00 my cost). There are 35 pages of reciepts from XK's unlimited alone. I have over $23,000 in this project in parts and sub work, not including my labor or the purchase of the car!

What this car needs now, besides a good home,is the interior installed, door glass should be replaced to stay with the quality of the rest of the car along with the windshield. The guages need to be detailed along with the steering wheel.

The main body has been completed with the outer doors and is ready for wet sanding and painting. (all rust repair was done by removeing and replaceing by welding with MIG or TIG). Panels were primed with epoxy then 4 coats of 2K urethane primer, all PPG products. This car has had all floor pans and rockers replaced and is emaculate underneath. The firewall has been painted with polyurethane, British racing green, along with the front subframe.

The bonnet is completely disassembled, this is were I left off. The metal work needs to be completed. The front lower portion of the bonnet has been blasted and primed but needs sections removed and replaced. I have new hindges and most pieces to reassemble (chrome, seperating beading, OE bolts and washers, new wiring harness for the lighting, etc.) The car's main wiring harness was in good working order and I had not decided if I would replace it so it is still in the car.

Most if not all of the very difficult has been completed as you can see, most parts to finish are there . This car needs someone to finish the job.

If this car is to be sold it is as is were is. All the parts I have go with it including the factory hard top (which is in good condition but not restored)

Is this car a conversion, or the wrong car number?

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
