VERY NICE 69 XKE. I bought this car from the original owner in 1994, it still had the original tires, 26000 miles. Ive restored atleast 40 english sports cars and this was the culmination of my efforts. The goal was to upgrade the little things that make English cars a pain, and turn this car into some thing you could drive anywhere, anytime, air on , windows up- 100 degrees, no engine overheat, no cooking potatoes under the seats. This work took place in 1995-6 and its still performing. Of course it got the clear coated poly paint, new glass-seals ect, but the chrome was-is great. The interior is original, except the carpets, which have double foil heat shields below. One very rare option on this car is the chrome factory wheels, read no wire wheels falling off, worn splines, no bent wires, no hassle. Modern Cooling System- new fan, 100 amp alt-one wire, power brakes, engine heat shields, secondary throttle butterflies modified- this alone is unbeliveable. Halogen lights, side lamps removed, totally undercoated even inside the sills, rust free to begin with. Fuel system modified, pump is rotory, ball and seats upgraded. Clutch Pac upgraded, stainless pipes. I know why other restored cars sit in the garage, you cant drive them, ie 35 amp alt- headlights on-air condtitioning on- wipers on- cooling fans on- pretty soon the battery is dead. This car is a driver. Pictures dont show a minor scratch here and there, ect.
