Ebay item 3/7/07
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jaguar-E-Type-1969-JAGUAR-4-2-E-TYPE-COUPE_W0QQitemZ2200 ...
Current bid $14,000 reserve not met, 1 bid, 6 days left in auction.

Sellers description:
I am selling the car for a friend who has moved to Arkansas and asked me to list it for him. I have stored it for him for several years. The car was purchased in April 1999 from Doc's Jags in Scottsdale, Az. with 72,546 miles on it. After mechanical breakdown on the trip back to Virginia, the engine was completely rebuilt, i.e. pistons, rods, bearings, seals, etc. The front and rear suspensions were rebuilt with new bearings, ball joints, tie rods, etc. A total brake system rebuild including calipers, pads, master cylinder, etc. A new clutch assembly with new master and slave cylinders, new fuel pump, water pump, oil pump and the carbs were rebuilt. The thermostat was replaced as were all belts and hoses. The heating system was rebuilt with stainless steel pipes. The A/C system was replaced and a new heavy duty aluminum radiator and custom cooling fan system was installed. The front windshield was replaced and the ignition system was converted to an electronic system. All original receipts for the work are included. The car has a Sony 5 CD changer and other than an erratic speedometer, it appears to be in excellent running condition. The car is Primrose -yellow with black leather interior both in very good condition. At some time it was repainted but there doesn't appear to be any rust. The chrome is good and the Dunlop tires are in very good condition.

Do you know the original owner's name? or where the car originally came from? I would be interested in that history. Thanks

VIN: 1R26258
Vehicle to be offered for Auction sale September 26th-28th at Russo and Steele's inaugural Las Vegas, Nevada Auction.

1969 Jaguar XKE E-Type Series II Coupe 4-Speed manual transmission. This car left the Jaguar Browns Lane Coventry Factory in 1969 and believed to be a Southern California and Virginia car its whole life. Original numbers matching straight 6-Cylinder Jaguar engine. The car was born in Pale Primrose Yellow on black leather and aside from one repaint about a decade ago in its factory original color this E-Type is a completely original car. The car also has its original broadcloth wool headliner and original Jaguar chrome spoke knock off wheels. The car has absolutely no rust of any kind on the car and has always been extremely well maintained and cared for. The car runs and drives beautifully, shifts through all of the gears properly and is free from any squeaks or rattles. The suspension feels nice and tight, the brakes feel precise and free from any fade, there are no shakes or vibrations in the steering wheel and the clutch feels excellent without any slippage

Car has a buy it now price of $35,900 for 20 days. Car now said to be in Mesa, Arizona. Car "appears" not to have sold at above auction, not listed in the auction results.

Sellers description:
European Motor Studio is proud to offer this 1969 Jaguar E-Type Series II Coupe'. It is finished in Pale Primrose Yellow over Black leather and retains its original 4.2 litre twin cam straight 6 engine, 4 speed manual gearbox and factory air conditioning. This E-Type has come from a very long term California ownership and shows 81,296 miles which is believed to be completely correct. The car is completely original and in unrestored condition with the exception of one repaint in its original color. The original spare wire wheel is present, along with the jack and original Jaguar keys. All original black leather is still intact and in very nice shape with very light wear. The original wool headliner and sun visors are in outstanding condition, the original black wool carpets are in beautiful shape, the dashboard is all original and in excellent shape and free from any cracks or wear. The center console is all original and shows very nicely, iconic wood three spoke steering wheel is still intact and in very good shape and the correct factory shift knob is still on the car. The radio has been changed to a pioneer radio (possibly from the early 90's). The rare factory AC is still intact and blows cool and the heater is blowing warm. All of the chrome on the car is completely original and shows very nicely with little pitting here and there. The correct factory chrome wire wheels are original to the car and do show some pitting and some flaking. The paint on the car shows well, there are some flaws, particularly in the door jams around the edges of the doors, rear hatch and windshield. The body of the car is in beautiful shape, completely free of any rust or corrosion. The body is straight and accident and damage free. There is one small dent under the nose of the car, (possibly from a speed bump). The straight 6 engine runs and drives extremely well, it starts right up and idles smoothly. The engine was rebuilt a few years ago and has recently had the carbs rebuilt and tuned. There is no smoking on start up or acceleration, the transmission feels solid and precise and free from any clunking or grinding. The clutch feels very solid, and free from any slippage. The brakes feel nice and solid and free from fade or squeaking. The steering and suspension all feel very solid and tight. Tires have about 80% tread life. All of the electronics are in working order including the dash lights, headlights, side marker lights, turn signals, tail lights, brake lights, reverse lights. All of the gauges appear to be working and reading correctly. If you are looking for an outstanding driver quality E-Type Coupe in a fabulous iconic British color this is it. The car comes with a clear title.
