I've wanted an E-type since they first came out & I was in university and could barely afford bus fare. Now that everything is in order, I'm looking forward to having some fun with it!

This car is in excellent original condition, except that it has been in storage for about 15 years. I'm re-working the brakes, and it should be ready to go shortly. The only non-original feature I've found is the paint, which was sable when manufactured, but re-painted BRG many years ago.

Original Strombergs off the car, but one previous owner(?) installed triple SU's. Other than the exterior paint, everything else appears to be original.

Brakes now working properly after cleaning fluid reservoirs and rebuilding master cylinder. The 3 SU's have been cleaned up and I hope to replace the exhaust system shortly before restating the car and making the final adjustments to the carbs.

I believe the car has the original door panels, without armrests, and it appears that they were never installed. Did some cars come this way from the factory? I have noticed other E-types without the armrests, but the owners did not know if their panels were original or not. Would appreciate if anyone could shed some light on this.

The carbs have been tuned, new exhaust system installed, interior refreshed. It looks and runs like an E-Type should. I've decided that the door panels are original and never had armrests installed.

Car offered on E-bay 9/11/09

Seller's description:
All numbers match, triple SU's (original carbs and manifold in box incl), runs very strong, handles and stops as it was intended. Everything works, never monkeyed with. Non smoker as far as I know. Engine was rebuilt many years ago, and car put into 18 year storage. I purchased it in Vancouver and have removed and flushed the gas tank, rebuilt the SU's, replaced all ignition pieces, and redone the interior where required. Beautiful wires with good Michelins. Could be repainted for serious showing, or driven with current older 5 ft. paintjob.

Starting bid $20,000, no bids yet, auction ends 9/17/09.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
