The 1970 Series 2 Fixed Head Coupe offered is finished in Primrose Yellow with Black interior. It was acquired by the vendor in 1988 and shortly afterwards subject to an extensive restoration that included a new bonnet, engine frame under floor rear panel and reskinned doors. The engine and running gear were overhauled or renewed as required. The carpets were renewed and, though the original interior trim was retained, the headlining has been subsequently replaced. It has been continually well maintained since. A relatively recent mechanical upgrade by Andrew Tart included: balancing; toughened crankshaft; graded high compression pistons; early Jaguar-derived performance camshafts; big valve head; lightened flywheel and competition clutch; free flow airfilters; six branch exhaust manifold; stainless steel exhaust system; twin Kenlow fans; 6.5 inch chrome/stainless steel wire wheels; tubeless Michelin Pilote tyres; vented discs and four pot calipers; adjustable ride-height suspension; uprated torsion bars and adjustable dampers; heavier duty front ball joints and track rod ends.
`JEC 230H' is also equipped with an oil cooler for high speed continental cruising and contemporary lighting for fast nightime driving. The vendor regards the bodywork, paintwork, trim and gearbox as "good" and the modified engine as "excellent". Accompanied by the original air filter box and history file, the original radio and spare tail gate are said to be "as new". Clearly a cat with serious claws!
