Car listed at Brightwells, undated auction:
classiccars.brightwells.com/viewdetails.php

Auction description:
Lot number 95
Hammer value £13,600
Description Jaguar E-Type S2 FHC
Registration XME 785G
Year 1969
Colour Blue
Engine size 4,200 cc
Chassis No. 1R20189
Engine No. 7R4095/9

This Series 2 FHC has been in its present ownership for 16 years, with the previous owner purchasing the car back in 1979. As a consequence a file accompanies the vehicle showing all work undertaken since 1976 when the car was just 7 years old!

Reported to drive very well, it has had recent rear discs and pads as well as a stainless steel exhaust. It is fitted with a period Webasto sunroof, Becker radio/cassette and a period wood rim steering wheel and its nicely patinated interior is in keeping with the whole look and feel of the car. It is MOT'd until August 2011.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
