According to the Heritage Certificate supplied with the car, this lovely E-type is just the 38th Series 2 FHC built, leaving the factory on November 6, 1968 in Regency Red with beige upholstery and was retailed through Brysons of Australia. The current owner bought the Jaguar in early 2003 and has spent a lot of time and money refurbishing the car, having the exterior repainted by well-known Melbourne specialist Glenn Olsen's Jaguar E-Type Restorations Pty Ltd, while the interior has been re-upholstered in black leather at some point earlier in its life. Mechanical work carried out for the current owner includes having the gearbox overhauled by Downshire Motors soon after acquiring the car, while Glenn Olsen has rebuilt both the front and rear ends, overhauled the brakes, steering, cooling system and retro-fitted air conditioning with receipts on file for all work completed. Cosmetic improvements include new windscreen rubbers, a refurbished steering wheel, five new tyres on excellent chrome wires, a new radio and speakers plus a new battery. Now showing an indicated 65,500 miles on the clock at time of cataloguing, the owner has made the decision that, having recently turned 80, it's now time for a new custodian to enjoy this magnificent Jaguar. The vehicle is registered in Victoria, however it will be offered for sale unregistered with a copy of the operating maintenance handbook and the Jaguar Heritage Certificate included in the sale.
