My high school girlfriends' father had a 63 XKE roadster in BRG. I swore no vehicle could compare to that beauty. And, now I own one. Yippee for me!

Opening bid $20k reserve not met, no bids yet, 9 days left in auction. 49k miles.

Sellers description:
This is an incredibly nice Series II Jaguar XKE. It is an older restoration but still looks and drives great. It has been retro fitted with 3 – 2 inch SU’s and hotter cams. It also has tubular headers. This conversion alone cost over $3000.00, excluding the labor. There is no rust. The body is straight and the car has never suffered from collision damage. The paint has a few very minor spots, but overall it is very nice and still retains a beautiful shine. The car has been garage kept. The chrome is very good, not perfect. The car is red with a black interior. The seats have some minor crazing in the leather in keeping with a garage kept car with some use. The Jaguar does NOT have air conditioning. It has a very nice canvas top. It also has a very nice aftermarket “Nardi” mahogany steering wheel. The tires are Pirelli P5 205/70BR and have very good tread. The car is in very good condition mechanically, with good oil pressure and no oil consumption. The car can be driven home. I am selling this car for a friend, but I personally owned this car at one time and can vouch for the overall condition. This is a nice example with lots of power. The car has never been abused, raced or driven hard. It has been properly maintained and pampered.

Sellers description:
1970 Jaguar XKE convertible red paint with black interior and 52,876 original miles. Restored at 42,xxx miles in 1994 mechanically and paint.....which still looks good after 15 years. No dents or rust. Floor Pans replaced in restoration. Last three years updated and replaced many components under hood. New radiator, fans, switches, hoses, heater box, wiring and undercarriage paint up front. Carburetors rebuilt and tuned right. Starts right up runs great at all speeds and runs cool as it should even in Houston heat. Motor does not smoke or use oil. Compression runs about 120 PSI across the 6 cylinders. All electrical components work including clock. Interior looks good with no tears or rips. Dash looks great with no cracks. Trunk area looks nice no rust with new spare. Stored in climate controlled garage. Can be driven anywhere.

I am the proud papa of this amazing jag. Her name is TC and I drive her everywhere as long as there is no rain or above 90degree F temps. She is about to get an air conditioner, a front end rebuild and dynamat the entire interior and trunk. I'll see you at the 2009 Texas' Concours.

Opening bid $47,000, no reserve, no bids yet, 6 days left in auction. Buy it now price $52,000.

Sellers description:
1970 Jaguar XKE is a 2010 Houston Jagaur Concours D Elegance winner in the driver division with 95 points. I installed an original series 2 AC a year ago for these hot summer days. The AC has new cores and bew hoses. Because of the triple carbs there is very little loss of power when AC is turned on. And it works very well to drive her during the summer. With the buy it now price you will also recieve a complete tool kit, 14" moto lite steering wheel (better for americans) and Michelin Red line wheels already on chrome wire spoke wheels and an entire box of jaguar related books. I have done additional work such as triple carbs, better cam, twin fan aluminum radiator (no overheating problems here), new fuel pump and filter and hoses, new distributor, wire and plugs, rebuilt starter, new battery, new front brakes, redyed the interior (which is perfect), Blaupunkt Europa radio with portable music device cord (radio works but needs final install). This car is perfect for driving...everyday! With the triple carbs she is very fast and drives a very straight line with very little steering wheel vibration. If you know concours car shows then you know the testing and judging is tough. She passed every test perfectly. With that said, she is still a 40 year+ classic car and must be treated as such, You will not however, be disappointed.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
