Car returns to ebay 7/20/10 cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jaguar-E-Type-XKE-4-2-1970-Jaguar-/270609491273
Current bid $15,100 reserve not met, 2 bids 9 days left in auction. Car now said to be located in Gulf Breeze, Florida.
Sellers description:
Very clean XKE with a 4.2 motor and 4 speed manual transmission. The car is garage kept, well maintained and driven almost weekly. The owner purchased the car 7 years ago with 18,595 miles documented on the title. The car now has 24,892 miles on the odometer.
The owner spent thousands of dollars just on re-chroming parts. This car was painted just over 2 years ago at a cost of approx $5,500. I took a close-up picture of a paint imperfecton near the passenger-side windshield wipper. Otherwise, the paint job is great! The only known wreck was a light rear end collision. The owner waited 6 months for original parts to be found and flown from England to make proper repairs. A new convertible top was purchased in 2008. The walnut steering, red leather seats, door panels, carpet, dash and gauges are all in excellant shape.
The motor runs great and the transmission shifts fine. Header, point & condenser, ignition coil, switches, and miscellaneous other parts were also replaced in Dec 2008.
This is the second car I have auctioned from this owner's collection. The first was an Austin Healey...its buyer was extremely pleased.
This car is charming...receives attention...and definately is eye catching!
FYI: Pictures of the trunk area and under carriage have been added. Both areas appear solid.
