I am the third owner of the car. My daughters boyfriend inherited it from his grandfather who owned it since 1972. It is all original and runs very well.

Sellers description:
1970 JAGUAR XKE ROADSTER---Engine # 7R10985-9, Body # 4R7381, Gearbox # KE11624, VIN 1R12807 This is a very original, rust-free late 1970 E-Type Series II Roadster 6 cylinder. Built Feb 1970. Finished in Regency Red with Black interior. This is a very original car that was previously owned by a retired military officer. He owned it for over 30 years. It's had minor reconditioning along the way and still has the original Everflex top and Dunlop spare tire. The car is in need of paint as the paint is cracking. The body is solid, no rust. Excellent body alignment, original floors. Mechanically it is excellent, good compression check. Recent repairs were rebuilt carbs, new radiator and fans rebuilt, cam cover gasket changed and it has been recently serviced. A high torque starter was added for easy starting. It has 60,253 original miles. It drives and handles extremely well. It has the original motor and British Heritage Trust Certificate. It has chrome wires and all of the chrome is good with the exception of the cross piece up front between the bumpers. It has working AM/FM, Owners Handbook and Service Booklet. This car would be a great buy for a Jaguar enthusiast that could have it painted which would increase the value dramatically more than the cost of the paint job. Or you can enjoy it now and paint it down the road.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
