Ebay item 4/20/12
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1970-Jaguar-XKE-Convertible-Beautiful-car-No-Reserve-/15 ...
Current bid $30,100, no reserve, 21 bids 5 days left in auction. 95k miles.

Sellers description:
1970 Jaguar XKE Convertible. This car is owned and was purchased by a friend of mine about 15 years ago. Within the last 10,000 miles almost all major components have been repaired or replaced by a well respected Jaguar Dealer. The major repairs include: Engine overhaul, radiator , clutch and pressure plate, U joints, carb overhaul, ball joints, exhaust, wiring, starter, alternator, new top boot and top, and paint, plus much more too numerous to list. The total cost of these restoration items totaled over $25,000. The service records are included with the sale.

The car looks great and runs great, the interior is great, as is the top. The car was repainted approximately 25 years ago, and has a few inperfections that would be associated with a paint job of that age. The wheels are in great condition, and the floors are solid. The car has always been stored inside in a climate controlled garage.

This is a beautiful and great running car, that anyone would be happy to show or drive.

Since the owner wants this to be a true auction, this car is being sold without reserve.

Car returns to ebay 7/16/12
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Elegant-beautiful-maroon-paint-wonderful-black-interior- ...
Current bid $26,100 reserve not met, 4 bids 9 days left in auction. Buy it now price $43,900. Car now said to be in Sylvania, Ohio.

Previous auction ended sold at $35,200 after 37 bids.

Sellers description:
This car is an older professional restoration that has been cared for and maintained very well. The head lights have been changed to the earlier series glass covered style. Also, the front bumper has been changed along with the addition of Amco Bars to the nose. This gives the car a great overall look.

Body and Paint: the body is straight with very good panel fit. Glassy paint, with little wear over the years ( the restoration is about 20 years old). The car was part of a multi-car collection, with less than 10,000 miles since the restoration.

Chrome and bright work: front and rear bumpers are in good condition. Door handles, trim around head lights, windshield, tops of doors and badges are all very nice.

Glass: very good

Rubber and weather stripping: very good

Wheels: chrome with knock-offs, very good

Tires: Michelans, good

Under-carriage and suspension: very good (suspension tight and correct)

Brakes: very good (brakes straight, good peddle, no pulling)

Trunk area: very good

Engine and engine area: engine is very strong and healthy, as is the transmission. Shifts perfectly, with great engine response. Engine bay, very nice overall condition.

Interior: combination of original and restored. Seats very good (leather soft, with good padding, no loose stitches). Dash and door panels, very good. Gauges all working well, except for the clock.

Electrics in very good order.

Soft top: good to very good (including rear window)

A professional restoration had been done to the car in the late 80's. I have receipts and names of the shops that performed the work. (receipts in the amount of about 28,000.00)
