I purchased this car from Midwestern Auto Group in Dublin ,Ohio on May 31, 2004. It was a trade-in on a new Porsche. I believe the original color was silver with black interior. It has a small mouth series 1-1/2 center section with series two wings.. original 58,000 miles . I have improved the car to a nice driver, and use it as much as I can on the road.

Current bid $30,600, 6 bids 4 days left in auction, no reserve.

Sellers description:
I bought the car in 2004 From Midwestern Auto Group in Dublin, Ohio. It was a trade-in on a new Porsche. The previous owners had the car for many years . I had been looking for years for a nice, solid E-type without luck. Surprisingly this one turned up in my own backyard. A solid well running car with 58,000 original miles at that time.

The previous owner had replaced the floor pans, outer sills, and trunk floor using Martin Robey parts. The work done was very professional and tidy. The wire wheels were also replaced prior to my purchase. Specialty Sports Cars did a significant amount of work on the car prior to the trade in. I have used them over the years ( such as rebuilding the front end ).

Since purchase I have bought new:
- complete OSJI (bartletts) interior including door panels, carpet, underfelt, hardura, leather seats and headrests, seat cushions.
- High rev starter
- stainless steel exhaust system (bell)
- the steering wheel and shift knob was restored by British Autowood in Florida.
- soft top (OSJI)
- front and rear bumbers
- new stereo
- all rubber weatherstripping
- rebuilt carbs
- door chrome
- rebuilt front end
- trunk kit
- spin on oil filter (not installed)

The car runs smooth and strong. The oil pressure is 40 hot at idle and 55 at speed. The transmission is quiet and shifts well through the gears. Downshifting to second is good as long as the RPM'S have dropped.

I have had the car's paint touched up over the years. The colormatch is excellent. It is very precentable and looks as good in person as it does in the pictures. There is a small spot behind the left wheel arch that has started to bubble through that will need attention. The underneath of the car is solid. I have tried to take pictures of this.

There is a chip in the windshield right near the rearview mirror that is not visible to the driver or passenger. I never elected to fix this. The tires are fine and have plenty of life on the Pirrellis. Jack, knock off hammer and center hub tool are with the car. Jack is in original pouch.

I would not be selling the car now that I have made it the perfect driver for me.......but I bought a low mileage 73 Series 3 OTS that is in the same condition that I bought this car in 2004. So, the work goes on. I already have a Austin Healey in the garage so reluctantly I am putting this car up for sale.

Current bid $25,100 reserve not met, 6 bids 6 day left in auction. 84k miles.

Sellers description:
Excellent 1970 Jaguar E-Type convertible. This car starts, runs and goes down the road as a Jaguar XKE should. Engine runs great. Has the syncros in transmission replaces 1000 miles ago. Has car completely gone over and tuned by a Jaguar specialist 500 miles ago. Brakes well with no pull. The interior has all been redone with leather replacement interior. Newer vinyl top. Paint is very good with the exception of a couple bubbles. One is on the bonnet and is the size of a quarter. I have been monitoring it for 4 years and it hasn't gotten any larger. There is another on the drivers side rocker that can't be seen unless it is pointed out. This one is also about the size of a quarter. Neither are through the paint and there is no rust showing anywhere. If I was keeping the car I would repair this Spring. We are talking paint touch up here not a major paint job. Car wins trophies as is. The chrome wire wheels are excellent and the tires have about 80 % left. The spare is also chrome wire wheel. It has the tool kit including the original wheel removal tools. I have a Ohio title and a Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate. The speedometer needle jumps back and forth while going down the road. It was fine prior to the transmission work I had done. It has been suggested that there may be a kink in the speedometer cable that is catching as it spins in the casing. The cable and the gear 90 degree connector at the transmission are both new. I hate to sell but I am running out of room and I need to thin out. This is your opportunity to own a great E-type that is ready to drive and show right now or can be taken to a number 1 car quite easily.
