Auction description:
c.1970 Jaguar E-Type 4.2-Litre Series II Roadster
Lot No. 10
Chassis No: 1R12381
Engine No: 7R-72249
Reg: JAG 170 Expires 15/06/2008
Surely one of the finest of its kind currently available, this wonderful 4.2-Litre Series 2 E-Type Roadster was fully restored by its previous owner, Tom O'Connell, of Perth, WA and completed in 2005. Those entrusted with the work include some of Australia's foremost restoration specialists: Memory Lane Classic Auto (bodywork), Dave Sullivan Motors (engine rebuild), Road Bend Jaguar Specialists (specialised mechanical work) and Ian Brown (interior trim and upholstery). The quality of this car's restoration was acknowledged by its performance at the 36th National Concours Championship in 2005, when it received the Bryson's Concours Team Trophy Concours d'Elegance Silver Award.
Purchased by the current owner on 23rd March 2006, the car has undergone a full mechanical check at Jaguar specialists Ian Cummins Classic Cars, of Mortlake, NSW. A mere 700-or-so miles have been covered since the restoration's completion: 350 with previous owner Tom O'Connell and 350 with the vendor (logbooks available). All receipts verifying restoration work and mechanical check are available also, together with a complete photographic record of the rebuild.
Estimate $95,000-$145,000
