Ebay item 4/2/05
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll
Current bid $1,025.00 (Reserve not met, 2 bids, 9 days left in auction.

Sellers description:
Can you see it now? You’re cruising through the beautiful English countryside in your gorgeous green Jaguar, sporting a stylish beret, and puffing on a pipe. Ahhh….look at the view….wow, look at the car! Are you dreaming?? Maybe, but fortunately, you don’t have to go all the way to England to fulfill this fantasy. If you’re looking for a vintage, foreign sportscar, look no further. This convertible Jaguar is geared up for springtime sunshine, and raring to go!

DETAILS OF CAR:
Paint:
The paint has a few imperfections, but has a nice, original look overall. There is some fading on the top of the hood. The rest has some light nicks but is a decent, driver-type quality

Body:
The exterior/body all appears to be intact. Up close, there are slight imperfections, but the body appears to be completely intact the way that it should be. The left hood latch needs some adjustment but fastens fine.

There is no real apparent rust repair or rusty areas that are overly obvious.

Upon close inspection, you can see three or four 2” slight dents in the left side, and similarly on the right side. The body does not show any obvious other damage.

The top appears to be fairly current and fairly supple. The rear window appears to have some light damage. There are tiny dots (or indentations) all over it. The metalwork underneath appears to be intact yet shows a little wear and a bit of surface rust here and there.

There is a trim piece missing inside the left door jam, next to the locking mechanism. There is also a piece of rubber stripping missing on the top passenger side where the window meets the top.

It looks like black body side moldings were added, which is fairly common as these cars are susceptible to door damage.

The rubber portions on the body that go between the bumpers and the body appear to be intact but are fairly dry, particularly along the front of the car and in the rear. They are still in decent shape.

Chrome:
The chrome is in decent condition with just a light amount of pitting and light scratching in some areas. Overall it is in very presentable condition.

Glass:
The glass all appears to be in nice condition with a couple of light scratches on the side windows. The windshield appears to be clear and free of any cracks or bulls-eyes, or any damage. There is one missing windshield wiper arm.

Interior:
The interior appears to be all original. The dash and door panels and are in nice, original condition. The leather on the seats and armrests appears to be intact with normal, light cracking. There is also a vinyl or leather cover on the steering wheel that looks fine. There is also a cover for the convertible that appears to be in good shape.

Tires and Wheels:
All 4 tires are P205 75 R15. The wire wheels appear to be in nice condition, although the chrome shows a little bit of light pitting. There is a little bit of damage to 2 of the outside caps, but overall not too bad.

Mechanical:
Items that appear to be in working condition:
· Emergency brake
· AM/FM radio (reception is poor, as the antenna was not up. Don’t know about the 8 track)
· Gauges that work – fuel, temperature, oil pressure, and battery
· Fan
· Wipers
· Interior, map, and hazard lights
· A/C Compressor is cycling on and appears to cool
· Tachometer, Odometer, Speedometer
· Headlights switch and side light switches
· Dash lights
· Windows and top
· Door lock mechanisms
· Hand brake light and brake fluid light blink every once in a while, but brakes appear to be working well. They stop very smoothly without any pulsation or pulling. Drives and steers very tight and solid, accelerates and shifts very nice. Clutch seems to grab about an inch or inch and a half from top.
· Lights all appear to work with the exception of right front fender marker light (not working)
· Also, windshield washer does not appear to be working, but it may just need fluid.

Engine and Transmission:
The engine compartment as a whole appears to look as an original car. There is a slight tear in the metal on the right front wheel well.

Detailed list of all standard and optional equipment:
· AM/FM radio
· 8 track player
· Air conditioning

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
