Car to be at auction:

online.handh.co.uk/m/lot-details/index/catalog/114/lot/43931/

Registration No:Un-Reg

Chassis No:1R11409

- Matching numbers, LHD USA car

- NOVA declared

- Heritage certificate supplied

The particular lefthand drive, matching numbers example offered here currently looks decidedly sorry for itself, having clearly suffered a severe front impact before being left in the open to battle the elements. Under the circumstances it is unquestionably now in need of a comprehensive restoration, and was singled out by a marque expert for exactly that outcome. Its accompanying heritage certificate confirms it was manufactured on November 11, 1969 before being dispatched to British Leyland New York nine days later. It remains in its original livery of Signal Red bodywork and matching Red upholstery. Though sad-looking it would appear to be largely complete and a worthy project for anybody who has the time and facilities to bring it back to life.

The following information is supported by the heritage certificate.

1R 11409 Jaguar E-type Series 2, 4.2 litre

Date of manufacture: 11/11/1969

Engine: 7R 8538-9

Body: 4R 5669

Distributor: BL NY

Date of despatch: 20/11/1969

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
