Sellers description:
This Jaguar belongs to a friend of mine who bought it in California from the original owner (a movie producer) in 1971. He, a former fighter pilot in Vietnam and then an airline pilot for Continental Airways, always kept the Jaguar in perfect order. It had the motor completely rebuilt in 1995 and repainted around the same time. One photo will show a metal oil can which he placed there years ago in case the engine needed it...Obviously, it didnt. The can will accompany the car to its new owner. Only a current illness forces the sale now, as he wants the car to go to somebody who will enjoy it as much as he has over the last 26 years. Over the years the car has been in dry climates, first in california and then in Utah. Since moving to florida about 10 years ago, the car has been kept in a garage. All original tools, jacks, and manuals are in and will go with the car. The rear end has had the gears changed to European specs with the 3:07 final drive. this gives it a higher top speed and also slightly better mileage. The original 3:54 pinion also goes with the car. He DID tell me that the speedometer recently stopped working (he drives it very little) but he hasnt put more than 100 miles on the car since. The car is for sale locally as well (for $33k).
