    Ebay item 8/23/11
    cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/E-Type-2-2-/200644584935
Current bid $7,877.77 reserve not met, 5 bids 9 days left in auction. 18k miles reported.

    Sellers description:
Low mileage 1967 Jaguar E-Type 2+2 in outstanding condition. This example is a Series I (not a 1.5 with mixed parts of the Series II). The Series I E-Type was the original, cream of the crop with the highest-power, triple-carbureted 4.2 litre, twin overhead cam inline six. All numbers-matching and its engine was blueprinted and balanced on its rebuild fewer than 10,000 miles ago. Odometer reading is accurate as of this writing and we believe it has not "gone around" based on the overall condition of the vehicle. However, odometer is a 5-digit type, so I cannot be 100% certain. Overall condition both physically, mechanically and electrically is fully consistent with a low mileage car that has been babied throughout it's lifetime.

This car is best described as a high end driver "driver" which can also stand on its own in competition, and it has generally been driven fewer than 2,000 miles per year over the past few years. This easily qualifies as a 6 footer, if not closer! The first point of import was Canada, hence the temperature gauge in Celsius.

Fluids have been religiously changed and the fuel conditioned and filled whenever stored, so there are no issues on initial startup. Car has always been garage kept and never driven in rain or on salted roads.

Body has NO rust, rot or Bondo. Frame is clean with no issues. The only finish issues are a VERY small chip on the left fender rear and an even smaller one on the right fender. Paintwork is strong and shines up nicely after a wash.

Interior is all-original with the original leather upholstery flooring and headliner. Instrument board is minty, and all instruments function properly. On a scale of 1-10 I would rate the upholstery a 9, headliner an 8 and instrument board a flat 10. The rear compartment is as it was when it left Coventry - no stains, rips, scratches or other blemishes. Like new.

    For E-Type enthusiasts:
    - The only non-OEM part is the electronic ignition, which has never had a fault and beats points and condenser hands down.
    - Excellent bonnet fit.
    - Correct period Blaupunkt radio included in the sale. Radio needs new volume control, otherwise good to go. Original antenna fitted to the fenderwall.
    - Correct replacement sideview mirrors included with the sale.
    - The tailpipe is a V-12 unit fitted by prior owner, but sounds outstanding. New stainless steel exhaust system from Moss Motors installed about 6 years ago, so no worries about future rust. Exhaust sound on the open road is solid, refined and commands respect at all RPM's.
    - Brake master cylinder and servo replaced about five years ago. Clutch master cylinder also replaced at that time.
    - Original wiring loom. Somewhere along the way, it was fitted with a manual cooling fan switch which was also on the list to update . . . The only other mentionable electrical flaw is the turn signal is not working. Looks to be a bad wire or loose ground. I have repaired these in several Studebakers I have sold and they are rarely an issue.
    - The finish is not the original color, but is extremely close. Not a Pebble Beach concours paint job, but polishes up splendidly and is a real looker.
    - Recent winner Second in Class at a local British car show.
    - All chrome is original and in good shape with no bubbling.

Hi, although the seller says it is black, the interior is actually what Jaguar called "Dark Blue". It is very dark. :) Cheers!

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
