1968 Jaguar E-Type Series 1.5 2+2 Coupe
Purchased in California in 2003 by myself while living there and imported back to the UK in August 2005.
I bought this E-Type with every intention of restoring her while living in the US. As I didn’t get the time there I decided to bring her back home to complete the restoration here.
This old cat is pretty much rust free, I would say 90%.
I didn’t strip her down or did any of the body work but I can tell where some has been done.
To me, it looks like a repair has been undertaken to the front part of the nose (parking dent), along the bottom edge of the passenger side sill and to the front of the drivers side.
There are also some slight dents on the back corners and a little dent to the passenger side of the front wing.
All the floors and structure are free from corrosion and the rest of the body is in perfect shape.
However, there’s slight surface rust on some of the edges of the body work.
The Jag was stripped down by the previous owner and all the parts are in boxes, including, bumper bars and interior trim, pretty much everything that has been removed. However, many of the parts will have to be re-chromed or replaced (i.e. restored).
When I bought the Jag, the previous owner started the car and had it running for some time, she sounded very nice to me.
Since then, I’ve never had her running and I’ve removed the exhaust. I’m sure it will still run fine but I can’t guarantee.
