Sellers description:
1968 Jaguar 2+2 I have owned for over a decade and has been kept indoors. This is an exceptional original driver with super low milage and has had very few owners as the prior owner had owned it for about 30 years and I have owned it for 10. The prior owner also restored E-Types professionally and he told me this was his personal occasional driver he would take to Concours, shows, and Group outings. He had a Roaster in the same color as a pair. Just prior to my buying it from him he had freshed up the paint, and rebuilt the motor about 7K miles ago which included some internal performance upgrades including hotter cams.
I have been an E-Type enthusist since I was a child, been collecting these cars for over 25 years, even participated in judging at shows, and this is the most original and unmolested example I have ever seen or had the privilage to own. I'm reluctantly selling this E-type as my family and job commitments over the past few years are leaving little time for this hobby and it is not fair to just store a fine example like this and not have it driven or enjoyed.
This car is as great looking in person as in these photos and you will notice some rare desirable combinations in this Series 1.5. One is that it has Triple SUs rather than the ZenithStromberg carbs. Second is that it has Factory air and last I checked about 3 years ago blew nice and cold which is very rare. Last is that most 2+2s came with automatic but this one comes with the manual stick-shift which is much more desirable. the paint is excellent and is called Ascot Fawn that I would describe a Latte color, it has no rust with no rust repairs either, and the interior and chrome are in very nice shape. The motif bar comes with the car.
I have had it cleaned up by JagConnection in Allentown, PA and that is where it is at now. The only thing I know it could use is some brake work as it has sat for a few of years and the rotors have gotten surface rust so I would not recommend expecting to show up and drive cross-country.
