I always loved the E-type ever since I was a little kid. Just purchased my first XKE, a 1968 2+2 in Willow green and it's currently in process. (email)Updated July 30th, 2008. Not legal proof of ownership. |

Sold by Bure Valley Classics of Buxton with Lamas in September 2018. Seller's description below.
www.burevalleyclassics.co.uk/listings/jaguar-e-type-s1-5-22/
1968 E Type 4.2 Series 1.5 2+2. LHD. Manual. Matching numbers. 36,800 miles. Original paint. Rebuilt engine. Just in from the USA, we are pleased to offer this superb 1968 manual E Type for straight forward restoration or recommission. This is a completely original, matching numbers car, still in its original Willow Green paint as it left the factory in. This is the perfect candidate for a sympathetic restoration as the body and chassis are rock solid, the car is 100% complete. It has the sought after manual gearbox from new and the engine benefits from a recent rebuild in 2009. Invoices are present for new pistons, cylinders, valves, head set and all seals. On top of this it is clear the heads has had some work, however it would be advised to have everything checked over and tested before running the engine up for the first time due to the fact it has been stored for the past 9 years. We have not attempted to start the engine for this reason.
The heritage certificate is present confirming the matching numbers and interestingly confirming this was a personal export car, so we have the original works number plate which should be able to go back on the car when it is registered. The car left the factory on 21st May 1968. The chrome trim is all present and very usable and the glass is perfect with no cracks. The interior will require full replacement although the dash is perfect with no splits or cracks. The carpets have been removed to reveal very solid floors other than a small area which will require repair in the corner of the driver's side footwell. With solid original cars like this becoming increasingly hard to find this car represents a fantastic opportunity to start your restoration from a very solid base, rather than spending months in the body shop or for a small investment get this car on the road and enjoy driving it as it is. All UK taxes paid and it is registered on the NOVA system with the US title present.
