Details
The E-Type offered here is a rare Series One and a Half. Produced during the 1968 model year, these cars used parts from both S1 and S2 cars. This example retains the recessed front bumper, split rear bumper and side light/indicator assemblies above the bumper line but has open headlights, triple wipers and S2 seats and interior.
First supplied by Jaguar Cars, New York, the car was then acquired by a gentleman in Wisconsin, who passed the car to his daughter. During this time, 1974 to 1987, the car covered nil miles, a fact recorded in the American paperwork. In 1990 the car was shipped back to the UK, when the mileage was again recorded as 20,000. Since that time the car has been converted to RHD but is otherwise original.
The car has now covered 31,500 miles, at the time of writing, with MoT certificates in support of the 11,500 miles covered since importation. It has the 4235cc XK engine, running 9.1 compression and has the 4 speed manual gearbox.
Finished in opalescent blue with royal blue leather, the car sits on chrome wire wheels and is offered complete with a letter from the last American owner, a JDHT Heritage Certificate and copies of American registration documents.
A rare opportunity to acquire an original, low mileage E-Type and a sought after S1 1/2.
