    Ebay item 7/13/10

    cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jaguar-E-Type-Jaguar-XKE-2-2-1968-Series-1-5-4-Speed-Pro ...

Current bid $3,600 reserve not met, 13 bids 3 days left in auction. Atlanta, Georgia.

    Sellers description:

This Jaguar has been in storage for many years after having an electrical fire in the dash board. The short seems to be in the ignition switch. The damage was to the wires and does not appear to have hurt anything else. A new wiring harnass should cure the problem. The engine and tranmission were in good shape when this occured and seems to be in good shape today. The car is solid and would make a good project.

Body: Looks good and is solid with good original floor pans. Paint looks good. Bonnet is in excellent condition.

Chrome: In good shape with a few small dings.

Interior: Seats need to be recovered and carpet needs replacing.

Glass: All the glass is good.

Mechanics: Needs wiring harnass and maintenance from sitting.

This is a worthwhile project to take on.

I have a replacement wiring harness that will go with the car.

    Seller's description:

This car is pretty much an original car. Has been repainted back 20 years ago, always garaged

Body is really nice and straight, has some minor rust bubbles on the quarters nothing severe

Interior is original and pretty much needs to be redone

Engine starts right up and runs excellent, no smoking or knocking

    Brakes work fine

It will need some clutch work maybe a new clutch,I haven’t drove the car do the clutch issue but the engine is pretty much sound

Floors look solid and rust free, from what I see car looks pretty solid and rust free

It is a semi project car that will need a restoration

Car has never been in any accidents

All the numbers on the frame and they need to be at are there and not molested in any way

The back window is out but I do have it and it will need to be installed

Wheels are also original and in great shape for its age

Keep in mind this is a unrestored car and will need to be restored to bring it to all of its glory

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
