Sold by Fayreoak Classics of Cheltenham in April 2024. Seller's description below.

www.fayreoak.com/autos/1967-jaguar-e-type-s1-5-2/

This 2+2 example was originally supplied to the United States before being imported back to the UK by a Darlington based doctor in 1990. After registering the car in March 1991 he proceeded to have the car stripped down by restoration specialists in Darlington before being converted to right hand drive, other work included a full engine and drivetrain rebuild, removal of all body filler and repairs with metal and lead before being resprayed in its original Opalescent Gunmetal and the original interior being cleaned and refitted. All documented with a large folder of invoices and hundreds of photos detailing the work.

Owned by the current keeper since 2002 in which time the car underwent another bare metal respray, again in Opalescent Gunmetal with all chrome work stripped and rechromed including the wire wheels. Showing 39,000 miles and now tax and MoT exempt. Sold with a large history file of the 1990s restoration including photographs as well as a folder of receipts for work carried out during the car's current 22 year ownership.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
