I have been working on this car off and on for about two years. It was in not great shape when I got it and I found more problems as I uncovered areas. I have it running nowand a few structure problem have ben corrected. A couple owners back must have covered up some problems but the cockp[it area is in good shape now. New seats are being installed and hopefully by the end of summer 2007 it mayb be on the road again.

Sellers description;
I am listing this car for a friend. He has owned the car for about four years and has lost interest in finishing the restoration. The car is the more desireable Series 1 2+2 Coupe with the two small seats in the back and the glass over the headlights. The car is mostly original with two changes; the color was originally green but is now a beautiful burgundy color somewhat like Jaguar Regency Red, and the car's original three SU carb system has been replaced with the Jaguar Series 2 Stromberg carb system. The rest of the car is original. The engine, transmission, and body are in very good condition.
The interior: All of the interior pieces are present except the carpets. The front seats have been re-done in leather and the consol is in great original condition; the rear seats need a good cleaning. The dash is OK but has some cracks. The original dash switches are in good condition and work. The odometer shows only 37000 miles, but I am not sure if that is correct.
The body: No rust in the bonnet as it and the trunk area are in remarkably great condition. The front floors are also in great condition with no rust. I have had some welding performed on the rear floors but the area where the large radius arms bolt to the floor from underneath the car is solid. The trunk and sills are both in great shape. Since there are presently no carpets in the car, you can see the sills easily. The car body looks good from underneath with no rust holes. I have all of the chrome pieces for the car but some of them need rechromed. I have all of the lights for the car- front and rear with lenses. I have most of the pieces that do not appear in the photos under the bonnet such as the air ducts and the air cleaner to the two carbs and the air cleaner cannister. I do not have the black air box that contained the fan and heater coil as it rusted out and was too far gone to repair. The glass over the front headlights is installed and in great condition. As I stated, the bonnet is in really great original condition. The wheels are original and in OK condition with some pitting. The tires need replaced.
The engine: the original engine runs well and starts right up. The fuel pump ticks right over. The radiator, antifreeze, expansion tank and hoses have been replaced; some brake lines and some of the gas lines have also been replaced. The brakes work and the choke cable has been replaced. The parking brake cable needs to be replaced as it does not work at this time. I have an electronic points system installed (Petronix), new spark plugs, wires and new coil. The car has a new stainless steel exhaust system, too. The engine oil pressure holds at about 40 PSI at idle.
As you can see, my friend has done a lot of work to the car, but family pressures and new interests force this sale. The RESERVE PRICE AND "BUY IT NOW" PRICE are set very low on this car as my friend really wants to sell the vehicle. The car is located in Johnstown, PA. 15901 just outside of Pittsburgh PA.

Hi, if your car is in Finland, please get in contact with me as I have many extra parts for a Ser. 1 LHD 2+2. Mine is 1E76372BW and has been converted to manual overdrive. BTW your car should have a Series 1 engine with 3xSU's so I am suspicious about the earlier listing with "original" engine. Get a JDHT certificat and verify the numbers, your car will be worth more that way. Also please fill in the other info according to the JDHT certificate, British Racing Green was not a standard colour in 1966/1967, most likely the car was Opalescent Dark green like my car and all "green" cars at the time. BUT neither was "Black" a standard interior colour for a "Dark Green" car so either your car was a special order that would be verified by that certificate, or then that info is simply wrong. Cheers!

The engine in this E is the original. It had no carbs on it when I bought it as indicated in the earlier posts. I put the dual carbs on to find out if the engine was viable. It ran great with just the two carbs. The hidden interior sections and framework were painted green and the outside was the burgundy red .....maybe not actually BRG but definitely green.

Ok, so someone had sold the most expensive parts (3X 2" SU's and the 4.2L inlet manifold) already on e-bay, too bad. Still wondering if the interior could originally have been black, well Timo can find out being the legal owner now by ordering a JDHT certificate for this car, it is definitely always worth it!
