Listed on Craig's List May 2009:
Gorgeous 1968 Jaguar XKE series 1; 2+2 Roadster. This car was the recipient of restoration in 1999. In good condition. The car was originally purchased by us from Scholfield Pontiac in Wichita Kansas . After 6 years it sat in a barn in Pratt Kansas , and then purchased by a local lawyer in the late 1970's . When the car was restored in 1999, the restorer and stayed with the three S/U Strasbourg carbs as. The 4.2 liter in line six purrs and the car glides down the road on its independent suspension. The X KE is one of the finest designs in automotive history. Some rust over rear wheel wells and bump on the nose of the bonnet. Runs hot and buyer is willing to put new fan on system but left original for new owner to choose. Interior refurbished in 2003.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
