I have owned this 2+2 since 1995 and used it as my every day work commuter until 1998. The engine and carbs were recently rebuilt by Dan Kelley - owner of "British Car Service" in Sacramento. Gearbox was serviced but not rebuilt by Classic Jaguar of Austin Texas. Front end rebuilt, some chrome work, and many other things over the past few years. This car continues to be a reliable driver with exceedingly clean paint, clean engine bay, and upgrades where necessary (Mallory distributor, Dayton sealed stainless wires, etc). The interior is serviceable, but a little scruffy when compared to the exterior and engine bay - nice sheepskins keep it plush regardless.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
