Ebay item 1/22/06
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jaguar-E-Type-66-jaguar-2-2_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ6 ...
Current bid $3,250, no reserve, 7 bids, 6 days left in auction

Sellers description:
This car has been sitting for the last 12 years. It was not in a dry garage and thus needs to be restored. It has some rust, and some evidence of previous rust repair. I rebuilt the carbs and had it running last summer. It runs strong, but the automatic trans is stuck in reverse and needs a new shift cable, or repair. Again, the car should be restored, it has some mildue in the interior, and the leather and carpets are shot. The car is complete, as far as I know. Rust is starting here and there, but is not that bad. Rockers seem ok, floors are both good. The bonnet has rust along the right side seam where the trim seperating strip is. It also has some rust at the bottom of the side skirts, this was also previously repaird. Title is clear, but Connecticut uses a bill of sale, so no real title exists, this is legal and should be ok. The front calipers are off the car, but free and operable, rears are in need of repair. Note, as I said this car should be completely restored, it is not in driveable condition. I am very busy this week and may be slow to answer questions, so bear with me. If you cannot afford this car, do not bid on it, I am sick of dead beat bidders and have no time for nonsense. The car is what it is, a fairly desirable 2+2 automatic , good year, bad trans option, in need of work. Please give it a good home. Thanks

Current bid $2,025 reserve not met, 8 bids, 6 days left in auction.

Sellers description:
Re-selling my 1966 Jaguar XKE 2+2. This car sold, and the buyer freaked out because shipping charges are very high for a car that does not run, so I have ended up re-listing the car.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
