For sale at Roman Garages of Grantham for £58,995. Seller's description below.
www.romangarages.com/car/1967-jaguar-e-type-series-i-4-2-auto/
The Car: This lovely Jaguar E Type is a 2+2 UK right hand drive car with the 4.2 straight six engine and automatic gearbox. It is believed to be one of only 2 1967 E Type automatics still on the road. The car has service history, 43,000 recorded miles, MoT to November 2018 and a record of all the 6 owners in its 51 year history. The valuable number plate JOT2E comes with the car, and was fitted to the car from new. The car was restored in 2002, with invoices to prove, and remains in very nice condition.
Engine and Gearbox: The car starts immediately, both hot or cold and settles to a satisfying burble on tick over. It pulls smoothly and strongly through the rev range and maintains excellent oil pressure. The engine is well matched to the ratios on the automatic gearbox and the car changes with fluidity both on kickdown and up and down its gears. The performance of the E Type is still outstanding, so many years after its launch, and is a superb driving experience. We have the Heritage Certificate for this car which shows that the car was delivered on 10th April 1967 to its lady owner.
The Interior: The black seats front and rear are in good condition and the whole interior belies the car's age. Headlining is intact and free from sagging, the carpets are very good, and the car benefits from having seat belts fitted for additional safety. The instruments and switch gear are all in working order, and the wood rimmed steering wheel is in excellent condition.
The Exterior: The car is finished in gleaming red and the overall condition for its age is very good, with just a few age related signs of wear and tear. It is an older restoration, having had significant money spent on it in 2002. Certainly nothing is required cosmetically for some time to come. The chrome spoked wheels are in superb condition and the car has good quality tyres on all four corners. Chrome work is excellent and complete and this Jaguar is a real head turner.
The History: This E Type series 1 is a car with 6 owners including the last, and has folders full of invoices, receipts and history. The first owner, a lady from Hayling Island had the car for 10 years through to 1977, by which time it had covered 16,787 miles. Since then there is a full service record through to the local customer of Roman Garages who traded the car to us, having owned it for six years. The car's provenance is excellent and detailed.
Conclusion: Roman Garages has no hesitation in highly recommending this car to any prospective buyer. It is in lovely overall condition, drives superbly and has an outstanding history file. The car is sold with an MoT and warranty on engine and gearbox.
