This is a 4.2 series 1 Coupe 2 plus 2 automatic, finished in its original colour of Carmen red with black leather upholstery. It is a 'matching numbers' car from new, except for the gearbox which was originally an automatic, got changed for a manual gearbox in the 1970's and then changed back from manual to automatic in 2003. It has a Jaguar Heritage certificate and an outstandingly comprehensive history file with many bills, receipts and invoices. These include a major rebuild and restoration of the car in 1986 supported with a full photographic record.
Today it has covered just 38,000 miles from new, with only 2,000 of them in the last 14 years and has only had 4 owners.
The history file tells us that the car was subject to considerable further work in 2003 (when the gearbox was swopped back) and subsequently the car benefits from many new parts including: diff oil, brake fluid, coil, air filters, fuel pump, exhaust, prop shaft, steering rack and new interior parts including the seats being re upholstered. Sitting on chrome wire wheels and with an MOT until Feb 2013, she's now ready to enjoy the open road once again.
