Sold by Car-iconics of Oakham in March 2023. Seller's description below.

    www.car-iconics.com/product/e-type-22-press-car/

E Type 2+2 press car and demonstrator. Opalescent Dark Green with Webasto sunroof, chrome wire wheels and Suede Green interior. 32,500 miles. 1966 saw the introduction of the 2+2 Coupe to the E Type line up making the car more usable for everyday driving or those wanting to tour longer distances. In 1965 Jaguar made three prototypes that were used by members of staff and their test drivers to finesse the model ready to go to the market in 1966. Once testing was completed these cars were designated press cars and given to the media for testing and marketing purposes.

This is one such car and said to be the only remaining 2+2 press car still in existence. Unfortunately no longer compete with its original press engine, but in nearly all other respects original and correct, this E Type is a one off, a must have for the Jaguar historian or collector. Such was the importance of this model's success to the Jaguar's directors, this car was assigned for testing by the great William Haynes himself alongside his team within the engineering department prior to being used as a works press car.

Since that time the E Type has only had only two private owners. An impressive history file holds many MoTs back to 1969 with lots of service history and archive information sheets to support its valuable provenance.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
