This 1968 Jaguar XKE Coupe is a Series 1.5 example finished in green over a black leather interior. It is reportedly a lifetime California car that the seller's late father purchased from the original owner in 1989. Power is provided by the numbers-matching 4.2-liter DOHC inline-six paired to a 4-speed manual gearbox, and approximately 5k miles have been added over the past 29 years. It is now being offered with the original California black plates and a clear California title.
The exterior is known to have received one repaint under the original owner sometime in the late 1980s, and the color is reported to differ slightly from the factory shade of Willow Green. Finish quality is described as driver-level with a few dings and dents present, though the car has reportedly been stored indoors and covered when not being driven.
A full set of chrome wire wheels have been retained, including a spare, along with a set of 3-lobe knock offs. The currently-installed tires are around 15 years old, and within the past few years the brake master cylinder and booster have reportedly been rebuilt.
The black interior comes equipped with a set of seat belts and a period stereo. 39k miles are shown on the odometer.
The 4.2-liter DOHC straight-six was rated at 245 hp in US trim with dual Stromberg carburetors. Service records are unavailable, but the seller indicates that routine fluid changes and general service have been performed yearly. A replacement clutch was installed in 1989, and one of the cooling fans was rebuilt more recently. Rust Mort has been applied to a few areas of surface rust on the underside of the bonnet.
Engine block stamping 7E18072-9 confirmed numbers-matching by the vehicle data plate.

Underneath is exceptionally clean, living in CA for most its life. Never having being in an accident, the car's panels are fit perfect like it did when it left the factory. Car starts, runs and drives nicely, burns clean and shifts up and down through the gears smoothly.
Clean title in my name.
