    Found on the net.

Now completely restored to concourse standard over the past 5 years. I would like to hear from previous owners. My car has been imported from Texas in 1993.

I don't believe the gearbox number you have entered for this car can be correct. It should have all numbers after the "KE" prefix. If you examin the other cars in the data base near your car you will see this.

    Steve,
If you check my E Type Owners List at www.jaguarlinks.com, you will see that EJ was used from July of 67 thru Sept of 67. EE was used from Oct 67 thru Feb of 68. KE was used from Mar of 68 to end of production in July of 68. I was having a fit trying to make sense of the different prefixes for the gearbox until a pattern developed. Check rows around the 3000 range.

    Cheers, Mike

Thank you Steven and Mike for the comments. I made the notes during the restauration of the car. Next time when the gearbox comes out (which I hope will not be in the near future) I will have another look and still u guys hunger for data.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
