This stunning RHD matching numbers Jaguar E Type Series 1 FHC has arrived from one of our customers in Devon who has owned the car since 2017. It has covered 4500 miles over this time, many of the miles in the Barcelona area. XKE5C was built on 28 February 1968 and whilst the Heritage Certificate confirms it as a Series 1, it falls within the Series 1.5 chassis number series. This matching numbers car was supplied new in Light Blue with a Dark Blue leather trim to Malcolm C A Kauffman of New York City.

XKE5C is a low ownership, low mileage car that spent 8 years with its first owner. He took delivery in New York and it was taken to Los Angeles by rail in 1970 when the owner moved to California. Staying in California, the second owner kept the car for 24 years covering 11,000 miles. In 2000 the car was sold as a non runner to its third owner in Chatsworth, California. In 10 years it was never driven, and in 2010 it was imported into the UK and then subject to a nut and bolt rebuild with less than 50,000 miles from new.

The major rebuild was carried to a high standard and the body was found to be structurally original with much of the panelwork in excellent condition with no corrosion. The body and underside were repainted. The interior was re-trimmed, car re-chromed with its original glass left in place. It was rebuilt mechanically and the car upgraded. The engine and cylinder head were rebuilt with new piston rings, bearings with with polished crankshaft and balanced, crank, pistons and flywheel.

Upgrades include 5 speed gearbox, adjustable dampers, vented front discs with 4 piston callipers, uprated rear callipers with braided hoses, electronic ignition, high torque starter motor, DAB radio,stainless steel exhaust, alluminium radiator and electronic fuel pump. On completion the car was not used until sold to the current owner 5 years ago. Since then the car has covered 4500 miles with £6,000 spent on maintaining the car.

This is an outstanding car with a genuine 54,000 miles and a fantastic history with restoration invoices and photos, full ownership history and photos back to when to car was a year old..
