Opening bid $5,000 reserve not met, no bids yet, 9 days left in auction. 55k miles.
Sellers description:
This is a very unique 1968 Series 1 1/2 coupe. It is a covered headlight car, with a Series 1 E Type tri-carb manifold fitted with the proper SU's. It is a beautiful opalescent blue (its original color) with a matching blue interior. We are not sure whether the car came with covered headlights or were installed at the dealer (Series 1 1/2's are a hodgepodge of Series 1 & 2 bits). With the retrofit of a true E Type Series 1 Tri-carb. manifold, this car has all of the most desirable Series 1 features. Other Series 1 features are the seats and tail lights. Series 2 features include: rocker switches, door handles, dual radiator fans, etc. The factory A/C was redone in 2002 and we went through it; it blows cold; there are no leaks in the system, and was recharged by us. The car has been thoroughly gone over by us and we have done the following: Carbs. tuned and polished, new fuel pump installed, wire wheels re-done, rear boot seal replaced, new carpets in footwells, and a full tune up. The car drives wonderfully, but there are several blemishes and dings in the finish. There is NO rust, in the body or the chassis, however. The interior is very nice, the headliner is immaculate. We acquired the car from a family that owned the car since 1978. They were the second owners; we are the third.

Registration data actually 888312, a 1963, done up as a 68, changing back to 63, somewhat. 1E34881 must have been scrapped during the resurection

This left-hand drive Series I Fixed Head Coupe left Browns Lane in 1967 and was supplied new to Jim German Esq. by Jaguar Cars of New York. Bought by the vendor in Florida, USA as a stalled restoration project complete with overhauled engine, the E-Type is understood to have had its bodywork refurbishment completed by Smart Marh Restorations (including all new rubbers and seals) and also to have been treated to an interior re-trim encompassing new carpets. Attention has reportedly been paid to the mechanics too with the braking system being overhauled and new shock absorbers fitted plus a new clutch, fuel tank, fuel pump, lights and radiator. Riding on new wire wheels shod with fresh tyres and sporting a stainless steel exhaust system, the Jaguar has resided with the British vendor in Spain for the past few years and is offered with Heritage Certificate, collection of invoices and EU import paperwork.
