This is a 1968 Jaguar XKE S 1.5 FHC with the triple SU carburetors. I've been working on this for over the last 8 years but I am unable to finish her because I will be moving and do not have room for her at my new place.
I had picked this car up back in 1984. I had replaced the engine with another 4.2 from another E-Type that I had rebuilt back then. I drove her as a weekend vehicle up until I decided to take her apart and make her nice and tight again.
Here's a list of parts I've replaced:
New front subframe
New Floor pans for drivers and passenger side
New sills left and right side
New floor pan for spare tire/gas tank area
All new rear springs and shocks
Rebuilt front and rear calipers. Rear calipers have new sleeves
New brake pads
Rebuilt brake servo.
New clutch, pressure plate, TO bearing
Rebuilt slave cylinder
Rebuilt carbs
EZ cool insulation
New front wiring harness
Rebuilt alternator
Upgraded all relays
New starter
New battery
New headliner
New heater valve
New water and vacuum pipes behind firewall.
Heater core flushed and repaired.
New water pump
All new water and vacuum hoses.
New headers and exhaust system
Custom fit car cover. I had to send the makers the year, make and serial number of this vehicle for them to make it. Fits like a glove.
I've gotten her back on the road again and she runs smoothly and shifts easily. There is a valve tap coming from cylinder 1 intake. Handling is nice and tight.
As I said before, I've run out of time to finish her off.
Here's the list of things that she still needs:
Missing interior door panels, upper chrome trim for right door panel,
Visors need replacing
AC unit and compressor and hoses (this came originally equipped with AC but the interior unit had distorted and cracked and is not repairable)
2 center vent receptacles,
under dash panels,
right chrome trim under dash missing,
pipe from engine breather to air box missing,
left interior light switch missing.
re-upholster drivers and passenger seat
center console box lid needs upholstered.
Needs sound system.
Interior dome light inop
Horn switch and headlight flasher switch inop. (Turn signals and hazards DO work)
Dip switch inop. (Headlamps and tail lamps DO work)
Clock inop.
Wipers not hooked up, motor works.
Heater not hooked up, heater motor works.
Paint.
Included are a couple of boxes of items I have not yet put back on the car. Some are spares including an XJ6 electronic distributor and module. Please check the pics to see what all is included.
