This was my car from 1984-2000. I bought it as a well-used, but all original car from a private party in Orange, California. I did the full frame-off restoration on it. (I owned a restoration shop in the 80’s & 90’s.) It was originally sold at Boulevard British in Long Beach, California, in 1967. It's original sale price was $5753.00. It is a 61-1/2 series one car; meaning that it has open headlights (but not as far forward as series 2 lights). It has triple SU & toggle switches.

I meant to type 67-1/2 Series One, not 61-1/2. This car has the "EJ" close ratio 4-speed transmission in it. I also put A/C, cruise control, rear window defroster, variable assist power rack & pinion steering, & several other mechanical & electrical goodies in the car to make it more modern. If anyone wants a top quality restoration, please feel free to contact me. +1 (760) 758-2836. In addition to being a first class restorationist, I am an Electro-Mechanical Engineer.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
