Car now on BAT

bringatrailer.com/listing/1967-jaguar-xke-coupe-10/_source=dailymail&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=2019-01-30

Current Bid: $30,000 Ends In 6 days

Auction description:

This 1967 Jaguar XKE is a Series 1.25 coupe that is said to have remained with its original owner until approximately 2012 and was acquired by the selling dealer in 2014 from its second owner in California. Power is from a 4.2-liter inline-six paired with a 4-speed manual transmission. The car is finished in light metallic blue over blue leather and features open headlights, triple SU carburetors, and early-style toggle switches. Mechanical work in 2017 included engine tuning and a new exhaust system as well as repairs to the braking, front suspension, fuel, ignition, and cooling systems. This Series 1.25 XKE is offered with a Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate, recent service records, tool kit, and a clean Florida title.

Cosmetic imperfections include bubbling on the hood and a spot at the lower rear corner of the driver’s door opening as well as chips, cracks, and scratches in the finish. New door seals were installed under current ownership. The interior features dark blue carpeting, door panels, and leather seat upholstery.. An Audiovox cassette player is installed in the center stack. Instrumentation includes a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 5,000-rpm redline. The 5-digit odometer shows just over 52k miles, of which the selling dealer has reportedly added more than 2,000.

The 4.2-liter inline-six features polished aluminum cam covers and triple SU carburetors. Recent work is said to have included fitment of a new fuel pump and filters, spark plugs and wires, ignition coil, exhaust manifold studs, engine mounts, radiator hoses, clutch slave cylinder, hood landing seal, and carburetor components.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a 4-speed manual transmission. A factory-replacement exhaust system has reportedly been installed with AccuSeal clamps. The braking system received new pads, calipers, hydraulic lines, vacuum hoses, and more. The front suspension has been updated with new steering rack boots, lower shock and control arm bushings, and lower ball joints. Five recent maintenance invoices from Gulfstream Jaguar in Fort Lauderdale, Florida are included in the gallery.

A certificate from the Jaguar Heritage Trust shows that the car was factory finished in its current color combination and was dispatched to its original dealership in Paris, France in July 1967. It is unknown exactly when the car was imported to the United States from France. The serial numbers on the body, engine, and cylinder head match those on the certificate.
