Make JAGUAR

Model XKE Style COUPE

Lot #783.1 - From 1965-1967 Jaguar produced only 5,832 of the Jaguar XKE 4.2-liter fixed-head coupe models. This 1967 example offers a host of improvements over its earlier 3.8-liter counterpart. The improvements include a full synchromesh 4-speed manual gearbox, power-assisted servo brakes, more comfortable seats, an improved electrical system and a 4.2-liter engine. The updated engine provides more torque, 373hp and 275 ft/lbs, better tractability and a top speed of 146 mph. This example is finished in Primrose Yellow over a black leather interior. The car's restoration was recently completed by the previous owner and it has 45,205 original miles (the title reads mileage exempt). All of the mechanical and aesthetic updates were recently completed in October 2018. This Jaguar boasts its matching-numbers drivetrain with certification from Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust.

Where did the extra 100+ bhp. come from?

Standard bhp in the 4.2 for 1966/1967 was 265.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
