This 1967 Jaguar E-Type is a Series I coupe that was purchased new at the Foreign Car Center in Dothan, Alabama by its original owner, an architect who kept it until its purchase by the seller's brother in 2002. The car is finished in an older repaint of its correct Carmen Red and equipped with its original 4.2L DOHC straight-six and 4-speed manual gearbox, both of which were rebuilt in 2005 by Jaguar specialist Don Moore of Massachusetts. The engine build featured a ported and polished cylinder head, Venolia pistons, and high-lift camshafts, while further additions included a performance clutch, lightened flywheel, Wilwood brakes, suspension updates, and custom knock-off wheels. Roughly 10k miles have been added under current ownership. This E-Type is offered by the brother of its owner with a Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate, an extensive service history file, original books and paperwork, and clean Florida title.

The previous owner commissioned a glass-out repaint in the original Carmen Red sometime in the mid-1990s. The finish is shown up close in a number of photos and said to present well overall with expected imperfections from age as well as a small rust bubble in the passenger door. The car is said to have been kept in storage during the Northeast winters prior to its recent move to Florida.

A set of custom 15×6″ D-type knock-off alloy wheels was sourced from Realm Engineering and shod with Z-rated Pirelli P4000 tires. A new Triplex windshield has been professionally installed using a fresh gasket and locking strip. A new gasket was also fitted to the rear window, while remaining rubber gaskets and seals are said to be in good condition.

The cabin features a custom burled walnut dash panel inspired by the interiors of period Jaguar sedans, and retains a full suite of Smiths and Lucas instrumentation. Equipment remains in working order per the seller, including the wipers, heater blower, courtesy lamps, gauges, turn signals and lights.

Several photos capture the condition of the upholstery, carpets, and other interior surfaces. The five-digit odometer presently reads just under 69k miles.

Included invoices list the following details of the engine rebuild and other mechanical updates:

Engine and Gearbox
Cylinder head race ported, polished and decked
Uprated valves, springs and guides
Venolia competition pistons, +.020″, 10:1
Isky Stage III high-lift camshafts
Competition lash pads
Ron Davis aluminum radiator with integrated electric fan
Electronic ignition
High-output alternator
Six-branch headers to big-bore stainless exhaust system
Lightweight flywheel from XKs Unlimited
Performance clutch package
Original differential with ring gear changed to 3.07:1 ratio
Rebuilt gearbox

Brakes
Wilwood 4-piston calipers
Stainless steel braided hoses

Suspension
High-performance adjustable billet dampers
Polyurethane suspension bushings

The car has been driven roughly 9k miles since the completion of the build, and was serviced in March 2018 with a valve adjustment and oil change. A compression check was also performed, with readings reported to register within 5% of 200psi. Detailed images of the brakes, suspension, and stainless steel exhaust system are contained in the gallery along with a historical write-up from the seller.

The Jaguar Heritage Trust providing build/dispatch dates, and confirming the factory colors and correct engine/body/chassis numbers.

Lot #75993

This 1967 Jaguar XKE is a Series I coupe that has been refinished in red over black leather and is powered by a rebuilt 4.2-liter inline-six mated to a rebuilt four-speed manual transmission. Equipment includes triple SU carburetors, rack-and-pinion steering, a limited-slip differential, Wilwood disc brakes, and Dayton wire wheels. The car was acquired by the seller on BaT in April 2018 and service in the time since has included rebuilding the front suspension and replacing the steering wheel, radiator fan, ignition wires, and air-filtration system as well as the wheels and tires. This XKE is now offered with service records, manufacturer’s literature, an owner’s manual, the original maintenance voucher booklet, the manufacturer’s warranty, a tool roll, a knock-off hammer, spare drive belts, a jack, a Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate, and a clean Florida title in the owner’s name.

The car was refinished in Carmen Red in the mid-1990s and features wraparound chrome bumpers with guards, headlight covers, a louvered clamshell hood, a driver-side mirror, dual center-exit exhaust outlets, a reverse light, and a side-opening rear hatch.

Dayton 15” chrome wire wheels with branded two-eared knock-off nuts were mounted with Pirelli Cinturato tires in October 2020. A matching spare is stowed beneath the trunk floor. Braking is provided by Wilwood four-piston calipers with stainless-steel braided lines and coated rotors. Rebuilding and nickel-plating the front suspension by Predator Performance of Largo, Florida, in June 2021 included replacing the upper and lower ball joints and the wheel bearings as well as the bushings for the upper and lower control arms, the sway bar, and the shocks. The steering rack mounts were replaced in August 2020.

The cabin is upholstered in black leather with red-trimmed black carpeting. Amenities include front bucket seats with adjustable headrests, an open glovebox, a passenger-side grab handle, a padded luggage compartment behind the seats, and an aftermarket cassette receiver.

The adjustable replacement wood-rimmed steering wheel fronts a burled walnut dashboard that was added under previous ownership. Instrumentation consists of a 160-mph Smiths speedometer and a matching 6k-rpm tachometer as well as gauges for oil pressure, coolant temperature, fuel level, and amperage. The five-digit odometer shows 70k miles, approximately 400 of which were added under current ownership. True mileage is unknown.

The 4.2-liter inline-six breathes through triple SU carburetors as well as heat-wrapped exhaust headers flowing into a stainless-steel dual exhaust system. A rebuild of the engine under previous ownership included porting, polishing, and decking the cylinder head as well as the installation of Isky Stage III high-lift camshafts, competition lash pads, .020″-oversize Venolia pistons, a lightweight flywheel, an electronic ignition, and an aluminum radiator. Service under current ownership included rebuilding and syncing the carburetors and installing an electric fan as well as a Crane electronic ignition, sport coil, high-output battery, and voltage stabilizer. The air filtration system was replaced as were the alternator assembly, ignition wires, spark plugs, and fuel pump.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission that was rebuilt with a performance clutch package under previous ownership as well as a limited-slip differential with 3.54:1 gearing.

The Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate indicates a manufacture date of January 5th, 1967, and distribution through Jaguar Cars of New York as well as the factory serial numbers and colors.

The title lists the VIN as 1E340917E118359 which is a combination of the chassis and engine numbers entered consecutively.
