Current bid $4,161 reserve not met, 7 bids 9 days left in auction.

Sellers description:
1967 Jaguar XKE Series 1 (2) passenger coupe that we have owned for (30) years. The speedometer registers just under 50K miles and is accurate to the best of my knowledge. The VIN number is 1E33489.

It is all original except for rear arch repair (fiberglass) that was done prior to our purchase of the car, and refitting with Koni shocks. The car is in need of complete body, interior, and mechanical restoration.

It was a daily driver in the summers during the first (10) years of our ownership. It has since been in storage, primarily inside, with a few years outside covered. I do not believe the car has ever been wrecked, but has several dents from “garage accidents.” Other than the rear wheel arches, the only obvious “rust thru” is at the passenger side bottom of the gas tank well. The inside driver and passenger foot wells have surface rust but seem to be solid. The engine had oil injected into the spark plug holes before it was stored, but I have not tried to turn the engine over. Other than smoke on start up, the engine ran great during the time we drove it.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
